RESCUE BOMBAY FROM MUMBAI I hundred percent agree with editorial published in Times of India, Mumbai edition dtd;10/12/2008.bombay belong India and Bombay for Indians. Now time has come to rescues Bombay from Mumbai to save from linguistics, Regionalism .Bombay has hundred percent different characters apart from rest of Maharashtra. Vote bank politics, of greedy politician, spoiled the image of Bombay, It is now no more metropolitan city having own language called Bambia, own culture called Bambaia; near future it is going to shed its financial capital status. Bombay was made up of industrial houses, which industries spread over entire India, which was made up from skilled manpower, for example, managerial persons from entirIndia,Carpenter,barber,machenic and hard working semi skilled labor from north India,mensons,secretarial persons from south India, top babues from eastern India and merchants, stoneworker from western India. The city of Bombay originally consisted of seven islands, namely Colaba, Mazagaon, Old women’s island, Wadala, Mahim and Matunga-Sion, which have been joined together by series of reclamation. Bombay, originally inhabited by emperor Ashoka,some monument of that time, still exist today at Nalasopara.After his death, these islands passed in the hands of various Hindu rulers until 1343.In that year, Muslim of Gujarat took possession and ruled for next two centuries. The only mark of their dominion over these islands that remain today is the mosque at Mahim.In 1534 Portuguese took Bombay by force from Muslims rulers. This led to the establishment of numerous Churches, However, only one church with Portuguese style façade still remains; it is the St.Andrews church at Bandra.They named their new possession as Bom Baia which means Good Bay.A hundred and twenty-eight years later the island were given to the English King Charles2nd in dowry on his marriage to Portuguese Princess Catherine of Braganza in 1662.The British corrupted Bom Baia to Bombay. The first Parsi to arrive in Bombay was Dorabji Nanabhoy Patel in1640.When severe plague had struck down most of the Europeans countries, the Siddi Chief of Janjira made several attempts to repossess the islands by force, but the son of the former, a trader named Rustomji Dorabji Patel(1667-1763),successfully warded off attacks on behalf of British with help of Kolis.Sir George Oxenden become the first British Governor of the islands, and succeeded later by Mr. Gerald Aungier who made Bombay more populous by attracting,Gujarati traders, North Indian laboureres,Parsi Ship-builders and Muslim and Hindu Manufacturers from entire part of India. After independence the Congress party led by Jawaharlal Nehru at the center was swept to power in most of Indian States, which was constituted on basis of language spoken by the majority of its people. The Bombay State included the city as its seat of Government. In 1960 stat of Bombay split in to Maharashtra and Gujarat State again linguistic basis.Maharashtra retain Bombay as its capital. The congress party continued to administer Maharashtra until 1994 when it was replaced by siv-sena BJP coalition. This was the period when Bombay started loosing its character from mini India to a regional city and its name changed, Bombay to Mumbai name of the kolis Goddess Mumba. This period division of its citizen started on basis of language and region they belong.BJP they are claming as National Party also strengthen the siv sena agenda to remain in the power. Due to vote bank politics National Party like congress ignore this situation. Now days a other regional party formed by splitting of siv sena named Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena led by Balasaheb Thakre’nephew Raj Thakare.They have only agenda to evacuate all the nonmaharashtian from the Maharashtra. First of all he has targeted North Indian being the softest target then traders, Bollywood personalities like Amitabh Bachhan so on.
Looking after present scenerio,in future it is not possible that India will remain united.Raj Thakare's Marathi Asmita,Maharashtra's govt.proposal to establish own Maharashtra Security Guard and Maharashtra's newly appointed Chief-minister suggestion to naval official, to learn Marathi to communicate Maharashtra police (I think center should make mandatory to all of its employee should know all the Indian language, to remain in the service).Glorification of only maharashtrian security persons who last their life during encounter with terrorist by some political party in Maharashtra,annauncing various economic package by various state government for the security staff and common citizen who died or injured during terrorist struck in Mumbai only belong their respective state,Tamilnadu's Chief-minister Karunanidhi suggestion to Tamil parent, name their kid only Tami lion style, demand ofCental government's job reservation for sons of soil,Antule's remark in the parliament on the line of Pakistan, are not good symptoms for united India's health .I have some suggestion, if strictly follows may change this situation. 1-strictly apply three language formula for the all the state of India. .2-Bring "law and order" and education under central government. 3-scrap sons of soil agenda, all Indian are sons of Indian soil 4Scrape any type of reservation in government and private institutions. 5-fix certain educational norms for the candidate who want to contest election. 6-All the IPS and IAS should not allowed serving in their respective state. 7-Make monetary, all the Indian should be allowed to take part in any state civil services. 8-Prime minister and the state's Chief Minister should be not allowed to serve more than two terms. 9-Dissociate politician to interfere police forces. A committee which is constituted with persons all the walk of life should monitor it. 10-Make three metropolitan cities, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolakata in to city state. 11-linguistisem, regionalism, castisem, communalism should declared crime against nation, person evolved in it should booked under NSA.
